Who can harness magic using a staff
Yet, we’re not equal, your power’s gone
My power’s young and unstained by wrath”

“Your power’s nothing compared to my own
I can burn down cities or bring rain of blood
Vainly you challenge my claim to the throne
I will wash you away by pain, war or flood”

But for your treachery you two would have won
Long is your staff and all black is your robe

Drawing his sword while hiding his fear
Eberulf stands still, his armour shining bright
He raises his shield, and lowers his spear

“Why should we fight, throw away your life
We could join arms, become invincible
You could be much more than a nameless lord
None would oppose us, we would rule all”

“I don’t want to fight you but least want to join you
For cruel is your mind, distorted and blind
The bird is the symbol of freedom and grace
But your own lust turned you into a slave”

But stubborn you lived, and stubborn you’ll fight
Sharp is my blade, and long is my staff
You said it yourself, now come here and die”

Dull turn their blades as they hammer each other
Their horses, enraged, kick up blood and clay
